Overdrive fue una banda de Power Metal Melodico que se formo en 1985 en Blacksburg / Radfford, Virginia. comenzaron bajo el nombre de Damascus, cambiraon el nombre a White Knight, luego a Heaven Quest. Cuando conocieron al guitarrista Jimmy, decidieron cambiar su nombre a Overdrive con el que se les conoció abiertamente. No confundir con Damascus de Muskegon, Michigan.
